DO be honest and give specific examples and anecdotes about your self.
DON'T concoct an excellent work of fiction. Sooner or later, you'll get caught and you will have wasted everyone's time.

DO write a letter just for them (no generic form letters, please) and tell them what it was about their profile that caught your eye.
DO give them your name, so you won't feel like total strangers (even though you are!).

DO be honest. If you never want to see them again, say it in a nice way.
